Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why Do I Need Professional Listing Photos? Can't I Just Use My Iphone?
While taking photos of a house may sound easy, there is a certain level of skill needed to achieve high quality photos. At Cornerstone Creative, real estate media is all we do! We have taken the time to become experts in the industry and it shows in our work. Every photo is a hand blended compilation of 3 photos are various exposures to achieve optimal lighting both inside the home and outside the windows. While you could take photos on your Iphone, you're going to have to choose if you want to see inside the home (blown out/white windows will occur) or outside the windows (interior becomes dark).

All of our photos include the following:
-
Bracketed Photos - Multiple exposures are hand-blended together, allowing for more color control
-
Window Masking - Assures superior window viewing
-
Sky Replacement - Gloomy day? Sky Replacement promises nothing but blue skies
-
Monitor Overlays - TV’s, microwaves, and stoves receive overlays to minimize distraction
-
24 Hour Turnaround - Get your photos listed faster!
-
MLS Compliant Photos - Downloadable folder of images provided at MLS compliant specifications

If you are interested in RUSH turnaround, please let us know prior to the photoshoot.

Videos, Virtual Staging, and Floor Plans: 48 hour delivery.
Branding Photoshoots: 10-14 days after photoshoot
3. What Is Your Service Area?
We are based in Appleton, Wisconsin and include a 30 mile radius for all of our services. This allows us to photograph in these popular locations: Appleton | De Pere | Green Bay | Neenah | Oshkosh | Greenville | Hortonville | Kimberly | Little Chute | Ashwaubenon

If you are an established realtor with us and have a listing that falls outside of our service area, we are happy to travel for you as our schedule allows. A travel fee will be applied at checkout.

*If you haven't worked with us before and need a shoot outside of our service area, please contact us prior to booking.
4. What Photos Are Included In Listing Photography?
We include photos of all rooms in the house at various angles. Typically we do not photography unfinished basements or garage spaces unless requested. We don't photograph closets or cupboards unless they're a feature, so these are the perfect spot to hide clutter when your completing the Pre-Photoshoot Checklist.
If there are photos you want to make sure we capture, we are happy to accommodate! Please let us know in the notes section when checking out or via email prior to your shoot.
5. Do You Clean Up The House Before You Take The Photos?
Homes should be photo-ready before we arrive. After you place an order, you'll be emailed a Pre-Shoot Checklist to give to the homeowner. This will provide room by room recommendations to clean and stage the house for photos.

When we arrive for a photoshoot, we will first walk through the house and property. We are happy to help with small final touches such as turning on lights, turning off fans, raising the blinds, putting toilet lids down, or hiding soap dispensers under the sink, but we are not cleaners or stagers. To help with efficiency and staying on time (sometimes we should 2-3 homes a day!) we ask that any larger checklist items be completed prior to our arrival. Thank you for your help and understanding!

*Note: Based on photographer's judgement, they may decide to move items to achieve a better shot, but rest assured, they will put everything back in its place after the shot is complete.
6. Should the Realtor be at the photoshoot? Should the homeowners?
As a realtor, we know you're busy, so you are not required to be at the photoshoot! Many realtors leave us entry instructions to enter the home ourselves. Other realtors meet us at the property for a walk through to point out specific aspects they want photographed and then leave shortly after. You're welcome to do either!

We recommend homeowners are offsite for the listing appointment as we typically go through the home 2-3 times to capture the photos, floor plans, and video content needed. This process takes anywhere from 1-3 hours. Having to move kids, toys, and pets from room to room becomes time consuming, and we don't want to put the homeowners through that, so it's often best to have them step out while we are onsite.
7. What To Do About Pets?
We LOVE pets, but camera equipment and drones can sometimes scare your furry friends and we definitely do not want that! Please be sure to secure your pets in an area that won't be photographed or have them offsite for the appointment. Be sure to remove any toys, beds, and food dishes too!
8. What About The Weather?
While we do wish everyday was sunny and 75, we know that this is outside of our control. If it's cloudy or overcast, rest assured that we can edit the photos to include perfect blue skies - and no one will know the difference!

If it happens to rain, we may need to reschedule so we are able to capture those exterior photos and drone shots. Drone flights are subject to FAA rules and weather regulations. If we are unable to fly based off the day's weather forecast, we will contact you about rescheduling the appointment or completing the drone portion at a later date.
9. Is Any Photo Licensing Required?
Standard License Included: Realtors receive a Limited-Use License to publicly display and distribute the photos for promotional and/or advertising purposes directly related to the sale of the property.
This license terminates at the sale of the listing. You are responsible for ensuring the photos are removed from MLS databases and any additional active promotional materials and/or websites at the expiration of this license. Images may not be supplied to any other realtor or seller to reuse if the Property is re-listed.

Additional Licensing:
Realtor-Extended Use License: To use photos ongoing/indefinitely after the property has sold, (ex. promotional material, such as displaying on your website), an Extended-Use License must be obtained.

For Sale By Owner License: Our pricing is established for realtors based on long-term partnership opportunities and standard licensing agreements. If you are a homeowner, we are still happy to photograph your home! This license provides you ongoing use of the photos to market the sale of your home.

Short Term Rental License: Our pricing is established for realtors based on long-term partnership opportunities and standard licensing agreements. If you own or manage a short-term rental, we are still happy to photograph the property! This license provides ongoing commercial usage of the media in your marketing efforts.

*Additional licensing can be purchased at checkout, or may be added to your invoice after if the property falls into one of the above categories. Please contact us with any questions!
